There is something beautiful about this concept if only for the reason that ALL of the other 45 or so products I have helped to create were developed in the very secretive world of R&D with Intellectual Property rights acting as the key barrier to entry to the Competition. Don't tell anybody anything but get the thing done. Signed non-disclosures before any exchange of information. This feels very free and right and so much easier if you all decide to help with this Revolution.
Tesla
I have watched Tesla very closely for these last four years and have always felt like Paxterra could be the Dark Horse on the Track when Electric Vehicle Brands start to take off. Now Tesla has gone public. They have spent $230Million and have sold about 1000 cars without turning a profit. Not counting my labor, the Photon S3 Development costs, including the protoype parts, are around $30,000. This puts us at about three vehicle sales to Breakeven.
Eat your heart out Mr. Musk. We are coming for you and hope to put the Photon S3 up against the Tesla in a head-to-head shootout. I suggest a "casual" drive up to Alice's Restaurant, timed of course, and then a blast-to-the-beach at San Gregorio.
Anybody down there in Silly Con Valley up to the challenge?
OK, enough boastful posturing. The task at hand is to complete the rolling chassis and drive train and get them on the road for some R&D fun. Stay tuned. I will attempt to keep you informed as best I can while we make the turn into the final stretch. To all of you who have contributed to this effort over the past four years: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now the real fun begins as we see what she'll do on the open road.
