It is very hard not to entertain conspiracy theories as to the recent attack at Paxterra by a Malware Virus. It occured during an online upgrade at Weebly so I wonder if that system has been compromised. Until this is repaired our capabilities have definitely shifted to the more physical plane. There is plenty to do but I want to continue to build awareness around the world that an opportunity has arisen for ANYBODY who wants to join this effort and profit in whatever manner and fashion they find useful that does not violate the basic ideal of care for the commons.
I recognize much of our economic system and technology are flawed so I can understand the intent of some to "Bring it Down" via malicious software, but I hope more of these people awaken to the fact that we will, for some time, need our best technologies to get this Beastie turned around and headed the other way. This is Industrial Aikido; using a malevolent force against itself to form a more sustainable system.
The Train We Missed
Sure, I'd rather hop out my front door with a backpack and head for the nearest trolley, tram, train, etc. but we here in the U.S. missed that opportunity over seventy years ago when we allowed several major corporations to buy up most of the metropolitan rail and purposely put it out of business in favor of buses, and eventually, cars.
One legacy of that decision that is very positive for our needs today is the amazing system of roads, highways, and Interstates that we built. The costs of drainage, levees, roadbase, overpasses, bridges, cuts, grading, fencing, guard rail, paving, lighting, reflectors, street signs, etc, ad infinitum, must be astronomical. ( haven't found a number for this incredible engineering and construction feat but I'd like to know). What we need to change very quickly is the types of vehicles that use this system.
That is precisely what Paxterra Electromotive is all about.
